Community Food Response (CFR) is a volunteer-led nonprofit that provides free meals to hungry people to take home or eat elsewhere.
The food we distribute is donated by restaurants, cafeterias, businesses, and grocery stores. In addition to helping people in need, CFR helps reduce the amount of food waste generated by area businesses.
No proof of eligibility is required to receive food.
CFR is now located at The Salvation Army Campus downtown Rochester, at 120 1st St. NE (corner of 1st St. NE and 3rd Ave. NE).
Our hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4pm to 6pm.
Anyone can come to us for food. We do not require registration and we do not have guidelines for receiving food.
All are welcome.
Drive through the parking lot (look for entrance and exit signs) on the west side of our building. We will come out to meet you at your car.
Closed on the Following Holidays:
CFR is closed on major holidays, including: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, and Christmas.
Weather Closing Updates:
Weather closings will be announced on KTTC, KAAL, KIMT, and on our Facebook Page.
We always need volunteers to continue our mission of feeding the hungry during this difficult time. To volunteer, go to the “How You Can Help” page.
