Our Mission

We are a non-profit, volunteer-rich organization serving hungry adults and children in the Rochester area since 1993 by rescuing extra food from local area kitchens, thereby keeping this food out of our waste stream; this is a win-win for us all!

Our CFR drivers rescue food that would otherwise be thrown away from hospitals, restaurants, cafeterias, businesses, and grocery stores and bring the food to our distribution site. The food is sorted and then distributed, free of charge, to anyone facing food insecurity. We require no registration, residency, or income requirements. In addition to helping people in need, CFR helps our partner food donors avoid sending edible food into our waste stream.

We Serve Everyone

We serve adults and families with children in need of food. 

No one is turned away, and clients don’t have to provide financial or employment information to qualify for this program or receive food.

We Offer

Prepared fresh, or frozen foods to take home or eat elsewhere. Food may include soups, sandwiches, salads, vegetables, meat dishes, pasta dishes, potatoes, breakfast and lunch items and some desserts. Some foods may require re-heating, and some must be kept cold in a refrigerator or freezer if not eaten immediately.

We Are Located

We are located at 120 1st St. NE in Rochester, MN (Corner of 1st St, NE and Civic Center Dr, NE).

We Are Open

Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 4-6pm. 

CFR is closed New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas.
